Questions now link to the page that explains them
The gap between finding out you do not know something and reading about it was the whole width of the site, and that was our fault rather than yours. You would get a question wrong, read the explanation, agree with it, and then have to decide for yourself where to go next. Most people do not. They press next question, because that is the button in front of them.
So every question now carries a link to the page that teaches it. Not the section, not the deck, the page. Get a question about clinical supervision wrong and underneath the explanation you are offered "Supervision requirements", by name, and one tap opens it. Get one about drug calculations wrong and you are offered the page about the formula rather than the whole numeracy deck.
That took tagging every page in the reading with the proficiency statements it covers, which is the same thing every question is already tagged with. The two halves of the site were built to the same structure and had never been introduced to each other. Every question in the bank now resolves to a page.
While we were in there we fixed something worse. The page about recognising deterioration named the six things a NEWS2 score is made of and never gave you a single threshold, so you could read it and still not be able to score a patient. It now carries the scoring grid, and there is a test that checks every boundary in it against the code that marks you in an OSCE station, because teaching somebody a threshold and then marking them against a different one is the worst kind of mistake a revision site can make.
Eight diagrams have gone in too, on the pages where words were doing a picture's job. The escalation ladder, including the branch that goes straight past the ward doctor. A closed catheter drainage system, where every rule is a position or a level. The five moments for hand hygiene, drawn round the patient. The order you take PPE off in. Pressure ulcer categories in cross section, because the categories are depths. A blank fluid balance chart of the kind a question describes.
There is a new deck on medicines management as well, covering the half that is not arithmetic: the checks before a dose, the codes for a dose you did not give and which of those you escalate, when covert administration is lawful and when it is assault, controlled drugs on a UK ward, and the difference between an allergy and a side effect.
You can also flag a page now, the way you can flag a question, and both lists live together under Flagged. That is there because revision is not one pass through everything. It is going back to the six pages you know you are shaky on.
The bank passed a thousand questions this week. If you have not been back for a while, the reading is where most of the work went, and it is all included in the plans on the pricing page.
