Free NMC CBT practice test
Start answering below. There is no form to fill in first and no card needed. The questions cover both parts of the Test of Competence, numeracy and clinical, and every one shows you a worked explanation once you have answered, because the explanation is the part that changes your next attempt.
- Questions from both parts, weighted the way the NMC weights the paper
- A worked explanation on every question, not just the letter of the answer
- Numeracy questions answered by typing a number, the way Part A works
- No account, no card and no email needed to answer these

Questions people ask
- Is this really free?
- The questions on this page are free to answer with no account at all. Creating a free account adds 10 new questions a day and keeps your progress, and it does not need a card. There is no time-limited trial that expires.
- Are these real NMC exam questions?
- No, and you should be wary of anyone claiming otherwise. Exam content is confidential and candidates agree not to share it. These are written from the NMC's published test specification, which is what makes them useful without being copied.
- How many questions does the real test have?
- One hundred and fifteen, in two parts sat in one appointment. Fifteen numeracy questions in thirty minutes, then one hundred clinical questions in two and a half hours, timed and passed separately.
- Do these questions appear in the mock exams too?
- No. Everything shown publicly on the site is held out of mock generation, so meeting a question here cannot spoil a timed mock for you later.
