Your mistakes now collect in one place

The most useful thing this site knows about you is which questions you get wrong, and until now there was nowhere to go and work through them. Practice walks a category in order, a mock shows its mistakes only on that paper's own results page, and flagging a question tells us what you marked by hand rather than what actually caught you out.

So there is now a mistake bank. Every question you answer wrongly, whether in practice or in a timed mock, gathers there. You open it, you answer those questions again, and a question leaves the list once you get it right. It is ordered oldest first, because the one you got wrong five weeks ago is the one you have had longest to forget, and you can work through a single category at a time if you would rather spend twenty minutes on numeracy than on everything at once.

One thing about it is deliberate and worth saying plainly. Putting a question right in the mistake bank does not change your accuracy anywhere else on the site. Your category percentages still show how you did the first time you met each question, because that is the number that tells you something about what you know rather than about how many times you have been round. The mistake bank is where you fix things. The percentages are where you find out whether the fixing worked, the next time a new question on that statement comes up.

It comes with any paid plan. If you are on the free plan you can still see every question you got wrong, with the answer and the worked explanation, in practice as usual, because revision has never been the part we ration. What a plan adds is the list gathered in one place and the chance to answer those questions again, and you can see what else comes with one on the pricing page.

You will find it in the sidebar, and on your phone next to the flag at the top of the practice screen. If you have been practising here for a while, it will not be empty.
